About the Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic service organization for adult men. The Knights serve communities on a local and global scale through many activities including coat drives for kids, Special Olympics, disaster preparedness and relief, and assisting people who are persecuted. They’re everyday people helping people every day. Whether it’s aiding the less fortunate, local volunteering, networking with others of shared values and beliefs, or participating in fun, family-inclusive events, the Knights of Columbus welcome and value Catholic men seeking community and ways to put their faith into action. Membership and How to Join
As a member of the Knights of Columbus you and your family enjoy many benefits, including 12 free issues annually of Columbia magazine, the world's largest Catholic family magazine, eligibility to join the Knights of Columbus top-ranked life insurance program, and many more family and personal benefits.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. Application blanks are available from any member of the Knights of Columbus. The Saint Kilian KOC Council meets on the second Thursday of each month in Meeting Room C in the Saint Kilian Parish Church Lower Level. Meetings begin at 7:00pm with the rosary and the meeting follows at 7:30pm. All members are welcome to attend.


  • Parish Round Table
    We have a standing offer with Father Bober to provide assistance wherever needed in the parish.
  • Bishop’s Project
    The Pittsburgh Diocesan region K of C councils have been supporting this project for over 50 years.  The St. Anthony Schools Program and the McGuire Memorial Home are the beneficiaries of the Project.
  • Charity Fund
    The council maintains a “Charity Fund” which was established to help people in need that are brought to the council’s attention.  Recipients are kept anonymous. Donations are graciously accepted.
  • Soup-to-Go Program
    Since 2009 council members have gathered on specified Saturdays from October to February to make soup.  The quarts of soup are sold after Mass. Proceeds from this program benefits the St. Kilian School Angel Fund as well as other K of C charities.
  • Fraternal Benefits
    Our Order provides an excellent Fraternal Benefits program.  Rated in the top five in the country in providing life insurance, annuities, long term health care and other benefits.
